Into the Realm

“When you are alert and contemplate a flower, a crystal, or bird without naming it mentally, it becomes a window for you into the formless. There is an inner opening, however slight, into the realm of spirit.” - Eckert Tolle

I’m fascinated by the realm where science, spirituality, and art come together to describe the nature of reality and our place in it. What is our right relationship to this Earth? When I’m looking up at the vastness of a mountain, or the infinite expressions of creation in flowers, or a bird lifting itself into the heavens, what is that feeling? A feeling of being at once part of it all and yet so small and separate…Standing before the vastness of Nature there is a place within me where awe and wonder become humility. That feels right to me. These images are reminders to me of who we are in relation to the more-than-human world, they give me hope that humans can find our way to live in harmony, and the humility to accept our important place as caretakers of that-which-is-greater-than-us.
